Editorial Policy
Policy figures must be traceable to a current CPF Board, IRAS or other relevant Singapore Government source. A calculator change is not complete until the policy data, tests, page copy and changelog are updated together.
Source priority
When multiple sources cover the same policy, we use the following priority order: (1) CPF Board official website (cpf.gov.sg), (2) CPF Board press releases and annual reports, (3) IRAS for tax-related figures, (4) Singapore Government Gazette for legislative changes, (5) Ministry of Finance budget statements for announced but not yet enacted changes.
Policy effective dates
Each calculator and guide shows the policy year it reflects. When a new policy year begins, we update rates, ceilings and contribution bands before the effective date where possible. Where a policy is announced but not yet in effect, the page clearly states the effective date.
Review process
Every page has a “Last reviewed” date. A review means the page content has been checked against the current official source and any calculation has been re-run with the latest policy data. We aim to review all pages at least once per quarter, and immediately when a policy change is announced.
Calculation fixtures
Each calculator engine has a set of fixture test cases — inputs and expected outputs — derived from official CPF Board examples or independently verified calculations. A rate update is not shipped unless all fixtures pass. Fixture files are maintained alongside the source code.
Last reviewed standard
The “Last reviewed” date on a page means the policy data and calculation logic were checked against the current official source on that date. If the page content was also edited, a changelog entry is created. If only the review date was updated (no content change), the date is updated without a changelog entry.
Correction process
If a user or reviewer identifies an error, we verify it against the official source, correct the page and calculation engine if needed, add a changelog entry, and update the “Last reviewed” date. We aim to correct verified errors within 3 business days. Critical errors affecting calculation accuracy are corrected as soon as possible.
AI-assisted content
Some guide content is drafted with AI assistance. All AI-assisted drafts are reviewed by a human editor before publication. Policy figures, calculation logic and official source citations are always verified manually against the original source — AI-generated figures are never published without human verification.
No government affiliation
CPF Calculator SG is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to CPF Board, IRAS, the Singapore Government or any statutory board. We link to official sources so users can verify information directly.
Advertising independence
If advertising is displayed on the site, it is clearly labelled and separated from editorial content. Advertisers do not influence calculator results, guide content or the order in which tools are presented. Our editorial policy applies regardless of advertising relationships.
